Derek informed us that he has never won, or even entered a photography contest before! And, like so many photographers, he only caught this shot by accident! “I was originally going to shoot the headlining band,” he tells us, “but I figured I would shoot one of the opening bands as well. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t have captured that amazing shot.” Looks like it was his lucky day!
